The purpose of this camp is to strengthen disciplin, molding them into a useful and independant citizen through camping lifestyle and scouting skill/knowledge.

70th Anniversary Celebration

Initial preparations and History Of Troop.
Troop secretary, Alan Chung - June 1990.

Nov – Dec 1990 – Preparations in full swing by SI Sivalingam and Syed Ali together with troop leader, Chiew Kean Loon. Mini pioneering projects, mini campsite, anniversary T-shirt, anniversary programme.

January 1991 – SIs' and troop leader meeting with principal, Mr Daniel Chan – approval given.
Donation drives was carried out by TL Chiew Kean Loon.
Scouts stayed back every week to paint, make poster, mini projects and prepare other things.

The Opening Ceremony, 6 June 1991.

9 am - The arrival of guest of honour – YM Puan Sri Raja Noora Ashikin Bt Raja Abdullah, wife of the menteri besar of Perak. Guard of Honour headed by King Scout Lim Sei Foo.

There were competitions held in the morning – backwoodsman cooking, pioneering projects and dances, songs, fashion show.
The Scout Grand Concert 70 Anniversary Night was held on the same night.

Guest of Honour attended – Dato Cheong Kai Fu, State Executive Councilor of Perak and former scout.
VIPs present on that night were YB Dato Syed Alwi Syed Nordin - state secretary and his wife, Dr Cheong Teng Tong - OBA president and former scout, Mr Daniel Chan – Principal of SMK Meth. ACS Ipoh.
Special souvenirs for the 70 anniversary such as T-shirt, collar badge, scarf and a special token taking the shape of Perak State were made for coys and troops.

The event was a success from the hardwork of SI Sivalingam, Syed Ali, Wong Seap Hong, Lee Wai Lian, TL Chiew Kean Loon, SM Mr Loke Choong Ming, ASM Mr Selvin David.A., ASM Wong Weay Weay, ASM Chin Teak Kean and the scouts who have dedicated their time.

Special thanks to the school principal, Mr Daniel Chan for his support and encouragement.

Praise God Almighty for giving such a history of dedicated scouters and scouts.
